BIG Little Science Centre Gala

This event is our 6th annual fundraising dinner and 2nd annual gala. As a not-for-profit organization, community support of the BIG Little Science Centre is essential to our ongoing success. All funds raised at this event will go directly towards empowering a child, student, or a parent to discover a world inspired by curiosity.

We will have a fabulous silent auction with a wide variety of items for you to bid on.

We are featuring a Guest Speaker discussing Artifical Intelligence. Mateen Shaikh earned his PhD at the University of Guelph in 2013 and was a postdoc in biostatistics at McMaster University. He was hired by Thompson Rivers University in 2017 as part of the University’s plan to deliver Data Science. Mateen was instrumental in the development of the Master in Data Science scheduled to launch in Fall 2020 and is working on developing an undergraduate degree in Data Science. He current holds funding from the federal government for methods in optimization and statistical machine learning used in data science.
